How it plays

A deckbuilder like Slay the Spire, but the hero is a cat who lacks impulse control

Climb a branching map across dimensions, build a deck, recruit ally cats, and beat a boss at the end of each one. Win or lose, every run earns Rift Shards that unlock more cats and cards.

Combat on Stellarr Station: Chester the tabby facing a goblin clerk with a hand of four attack cards and a Disorder meter at top left.
Turn-based card combat. Enemies show their intent, you spend Energy on cards, and the Disorder meter creeps up with every reckless play.
A branching node map through a space station corridor with fights, events, nap spots and shops.
Branching maps. Fights, mystery events, nap spots and shops, with a boss waiting at the end.
The Choose Your Cat screen with Chester selected, nine locked silhouettes and a mystery tile.
Choose your cat. Unlock the whole roster, one dimensional disaster at a time.

Cause chaos on purpose

Zero-cost Chaos cards pile up Disorder. At five tokens a Cascade fires: six possible outcomes, from huge wins to knocking the wrong thing off the shelf.

Cat behavior is the mechanic

Loaf Mode, Zoomies, hairballs, boxes, ignoring you, knocking things off shelves. Every status effect is something a cat really does.

It is funny on purpose

Card names, event text and enemy design are all part of the joke. The stakes are real. The cat is not worried.

The roster

Eleven cats. Eleven ways to lose gracefully.

  • Chester, an orange tabby in a teal scarf
    The Tabby Brawler

    Chester

Chain attacks and every hit in a row adds damage to the next.

  • Duchess, a calico in a purple wizard hat and robe
    The Calico Chaos Mage

    Duchess

When a Cascade fires she rolls twice and picks the result.

  • Circuit, a hairless Sphynx engineer in a tool vest pointing at a spark
    The Sphynx Engineer

    Circuit

Deploys gadgets that fire every turn. Cycle the oldest out for free Energy.

  • Mist, a sleek dark gray cat crouched low and watching with sharp blue eyes
    The Shadow Operative

    Mist

Always sees the enemy's next two moves. Plans everything.

  • Marcheline, a fluffy cream Persian sitting upright with a stern glare
    The Persian Support

    Marcheline

Starts every fight with an ally and makes enemies lose their turn through sheer disapproval.

  • Clementine, a big, burly orange Maine Coon standing with her paws at her hips
    The Maine Coon Tank

    Clementine

Armor that lasts between turns. Stack enough and she cannot be hurt. Let it drain and she can.

  • Scratch, a scruffy gray tabby alley cat snarling
    The Alley Cat Scrapper

    Scratch

Dives into the discard pile for the card just thrown away. Cheaper the second time.

  • Pixel, a cream cat with orange markings, sitting and looking worried
    The Apartment Cat

    Pixel

Reactions, armor, and an inexplicable calm that grows with every new threat.

  • Turbo, an orange cat mid-sprint with a huge grin
    The Zoomies Cat

    Turbo

Play eight cards in a turn and the zoomies hit. Play fewer than four and he sulks.

  • Gerald, a big, round dark gray cat with stern yellow eyes and a pale belly
    The Chonk

    Gerald

Big cards hit twice as hard. His main move is saying no, at length.

  • Secret character

    ???

Someone else is on the roster. We are not saying who. You will have to earn the introduction.

Where the rift leads

  • Meow-dieval
  • Stellarr Station X-9
  • The Yarn Dimension
  • Cyber-Purr Metropolis
  • The Purrallel Dimension
  • Voidclaw Dimension
  • The Nap Dimension
  • The Final Rift

Internal playtest

Play it before everyone else

  • Windows builds live on itch.io and Android builds on Google Play internal testing. We invite you, you install once, and new builds arrive as normal updates.
  • A Feedback button inside the test builds. Bugs and ideas go straight to the dev list.
  • Twenty minutes is enough for one run. Longer is better.
  • Want a credit? Tell us in the notes and we will put your name in the game.
This is an unfinished game. Expect rough edges, placeholder art in places, and the odd bug. That is why we want you.
